Daggers captain Abu Ogogo has been with the club since the summer of 2009 and has impressed in both midfield & defence since then.

Right back Abu joined the Daggers in July 2009 after his release from Arsenal. Born in Epsom, he began his career as a trainee at Arsenal signing his first professional contract in September 2007.

Although not making any first team appearances for the North London side he played for both their academy and reserves. He had a loan spell at Nottingham Forest in October 2008 and then joined Barnet on loan a month later where he made 9 appearances and scored one goal.

After an indifferent start, Abu made the right back position his own and played in the Club’s League Two play off final at Wembley in 2009/10. He took his impressive form forward and continued to impress in the 2010/11 campaign showing his ability to play in npower League One.

The 2011/12 season was much the same and as well as standing out in defence Abu proved his versatility by impressing in the centre of midfield.

Abu was appointed Daggers captain following signing a new contract in July 2012.
