Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still looks back at the opening two games of the season
"We've started with two very difficult away games. The first league game away to Sheffield Wednesday was a fantastic way to start the season. I was absolutely delighted with the opportunity to play this game and I feel that it showed just how far we have come.
"Unfortunately the result didn't go our way, but certainly the performance was one which I was proud of. I was proud of the players. Proud of their application, their effort and their determination to provide this club with this fantastic opportunity in League One and the performance they put in against Sheffield Wednesday.
"We then had to follow that game with another very difficult away game, in the Carling Cup against MK Dons. Once again the performance was first class. I can't fault the players. Tony Roberts has not had too much to do in both games so far but unfortunately we gave away a poor goal.
"As I've said many times before, this is a learning curve. I know that some players are going to learn harsh lessons as they always have done since when I first came to the club and even in the Conference. What it taught us was that if you're not on it all the time, you can be punished. This group of young, fantastic, ambitious players are eager to learn and progress and I'd like to think that that is something that is just around the corner."
