Phil signed for the Daggers on a two and a half year deal for a small fee from Dorchester Town in January 2010.
He began his career at Almondsbury before moves to Clevedon Town, Taunton Town and Bath City. Whilst at Twerton Park he had loan spells at Paulton Rovers and Tiverton and won a Southern League championship medal.
He joined Newport County during the 2008 close season but returned to Tiverton initially on loan then made permanent in September. Having scored 14 goals for the Ladysmead side he moved south to Dorchester in March 2009.
Phil made his first appearance for the Daggers in the home game against Northampton Town and ended the 2009/10 season with 11 substitute appearances including one in the League Two play off final at Wembley.
