Newry born Richard, 27, impressed Daggers manager John Still when he tore the Daggers apart and inspired Barnet to a 5-0 victory in 2004. The winger, twice capped at Under-21 level for Northern Ireland, began his career as youth at Queens Park Rangers with subsequent moves to Chesham United, Billericay Town and Kettering Town before joining the Bees in 2004. Richard signed for Dagenham & Redbridge in June 2007. The 2007/8 season was hampered by a series of groin injuries and he made only a handful of substitute appearances as a result of these. He had a minor operation in January and fears he's need a further hernia operation were put to rest when he played in the reserves for the last month of the season and is hoping this season can see him go injury free.
