The Daggers make their second trip to Greater Manchester in three weeks and again they are visiting a top three side.

A fortnight ago, John Still's men were at leaders Rochdale and took the divisional leaders all the way before succumbing to a 3-1 defeat, the two decisive goals coming very late in the game.

This weekend, Daggers are just six miles west of Rochdale at Bury, who like their near-neighbours occupy an automatic promotion spot, being currently placed third.

When the sides met previously this season, Daggers emerged triumphant 2-0 to put a dent in what had been an impressive run by the Shakers that had propelled them into the promotion picture after a poor start to the campaign.

In October and November, Bury went 11 league games without defeat until a shock 3-0 loss in a Lancashire derby at Morecambe. Daggers added insult to injury with their win over Alan Knill's side a fortnight later.

Like their near-neighbours Rochdale, Bury were beaten semi-finalists in last season's Play-off semi's. They were beaten by Shrewsbury, who had wrested the seventh and final Play-off place off Daggers in last season's final game.

This season, boss Knill in his second year at Gigg Lane is determined to go one better. The former Rotherham manager and central defender, took over at Bury after being assistant to Lee Richardson at Chesterfield.

His side relies on the experienced pairing of Andy Morrell and Ryan Lowe for their goals.

Lowe, once of Shrewsbury and Crewe has supplied 13 goals from 26 appearances, Morrell, formerly with Coventry and Blackpool has eight to his credit from 18 games.

Fellow forward and last season's top scorer Andy Bishop is only just returning to full fitness after eight months out with a knee injury that required an operation and he has played just four times.

In January, Knill secured the full time re-capture of midfielder David Worrall, a Bury discovery who was sold to Championship West Bromwich Albion. But having failed to establish himself at The Hawthorns, firstly returned to Bury on loan and has now made the move back permanent.

The Shakers are currently without the colourful, much travelled central defender Efetober Sodje, the eldest of a whole posse of Nigerian footballing brothers playing League football. Ryan Cresswell has been deputising at the centre of the defence alongside the giant Ben Futcher, son of former Luton and Manchester City striker Ron, nephew of ex-England man Paul and cousin of Fulham skipper Danny Murphy.

Last time out, Bury were held to a goalless draw at Barnet, but haven't been conceding goals.

In the past six games, they have only let in just two goals, one in a 2-1 home win over Macclesfield and one in a 1-0 away loss at fellow challengers Chesterfield the following week. Both their last two fixtures have ended 0-0.

Daggers are unlikely to make any changes to the side that performed very efficiently both at home to Grimsby in last Saturday's 2-0 win and took a good away point at Torquay on Tuesday evening, in another clash that ended scoreless.

The only change in the line-up between those games was Jon Nurse coming in at Torquay for Graeme Montgomery, who returned to the bench.

West Yorkshire referee Mark Haywood takes charge of a game involving Daggers for the second time this season. He was in the middle when the club drew 1-1 with Hereford United at Edgar Street in early October.
