The Daggers prepare for their final game of 2008 with a trip to Hampshire against Aldershot Town at the EEB Stadium.

Sunday's clash will be the first time the two clubs will meet in a League encounter as the history between both clubs have been in the Nationwide Conference matches, Ryman League and FA Trophy ties over the years.

The Shots have risen up the Non League pyramid since their formation of Aldershot Town in 1992 after Aldershot FC final match at Cardiff City in the 1991/92 season.

From The Diadora League Division Three in 1992/93 to the Football League this season the Shots fans are enjoying a good start to life back in the league.

There have been some dig-dong battles between the teams which both supporters have fond memories along with the way.

The two games in the Daggers Ryman League Premier championship season saw two exciting games with both teams winning their respective home matches that season in 1999/2000.

In 1996/97 the Daggers first match in their road to Wembley campaign was a Third Qualifying Round match at the Recreation Ground where Ted Hardy's men won 3-1.

Probably the one match which does stand out was two season's ago. John Still's men clinched the Nationwide Conference title and promotion to the League at home to Aldershot Town in front of 4,044 spectators.

Back to the present and the match at the EEB Stadium will be hard to choose the outcome as both teams are on the same points with the Daggers three places higher on goal difference.

Also both teams are enjoying some good form. The Shots are currently unbeaten in six league matches, which included Wycombe Wanderers first league defeat of the season in early December, a 3-2 win at the EEB Stadium.

Last time out the Shots won 3-0 at Barnet on Boxing Day with goals from Hylton, Charles and Davies in injury time.

As for the Daggers it's been an excellent December so far with a 1-1 draw at Bradford City, a 4-0 win at Macclesfield and on Boxing Day a 2-0 home victory against Gillingham. Ben Strevens opened the scoring on just 18 seconds and on 50 minutes Paul Benson made sure of the three points.
