The Daggers travelled to Dorchester Town on Saturday for the first time in their latest pre season friendly. The game was arranged as part of the transfer that brought Phil Walsh to Essex although, having picked up a knock against Bromley last week, he wasn't available for selection.
This was the first time most of the new players and the Wembley side have featured this term and only Tony Roberts and Romain Vincelot played the full 90 minutes.
Dorchester, managed by former Daggers defender Ashley Vickers, also had a former Dagger in their line up with Stuart Douglas trialling for the Dorset side.
The first half was played at a training pace although Vincelot, Nurse and Scott all went close for the visitors. The second half saw the Daggers have the better of the exchanges and Gavin Tomlin and Alex Osborn proved a constant threat up front whilst in midfield Stuart Lewis showed bounds of energy.
The Essex side took the lead with just two minutes to go when a Vincelot throw reached Tomlin and he rifled the ball into the net. That lead was cancelled out just before the final whistle when Steve Devlin broke clear and slotted the ball past Tony Roberts to secure a draw for the Magpies.
