Ladies Reserves win

The Daggers Ladies Reserves defeated Joybabe, 2-1 at Fairlop Oak this afternoon. This victory for the ladies moves the Daggers closer to East Barnet who are currently 8th.

Joybabe who were second from bottom of the league and have also struggled to play matches with this winter weather. They started of attacking the Daggers goal form the start and after 22 minutes their efforts paid of when the visitors broke through the middle and shot bottom left past Tracy Seaton in goal.

The Daggers then started to get to grip on the game and Georgina Sibbons took command of the midfield and soon she opened up the back four with a through ball to Sarah Gunn, who smashed it passed the oncoming keeper to equalise, just before half time.

The second half was very open with both teams, missing chances, but Edel Philipps tore down the left wing crossed to Elisha Downer, who then first time passed to Sam Tyler. Her first time shot deflected of a defender and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, 2-1 to Daggers after 70 minutes and the Daggers held on for three points.

Next Sunday the Daggers host Panthers in the Russell Cup, Third Round at Fairlop Oak.
