Ladies reserves result

Posted on: Tue 16 Feb 2010

On Valentines Day the Daggers ladies travelled to Garston playing at the Metropolitan Police Bushey Sports Club and again we were short of players, due to work commitments and injuries and started with just nine players.

The
Daggers started well and were holding there own for the first 15 minutes when Garston broke through the centre and scored to open the scoring. Five minutes later Garston broke away down the wing and crossed first time. Tracy Seaton the Daggers goalkeeper punched the cross out into the path of a Garston player who hit a shot first time past her to make it 2-0.

The visitors were applying some pressure and Sarah Quinn scored from a one two pass with Terri Briggs to pull a goal back. We were still holding our own and made it 2-2 when again Quinn put a diagonal cross over to Edel Phillips who beat the defender and scored to level the scores.

Daggers captain,Lucy White had to retire due to thigh injury and Daggers were down to just eight players but they battled hard but in the 81st minute they were caught out and Garston made it 3-2. In the final minutes the girls had run out of steam and Garston made it 4 -2, but this was a brave fight by the players.
