Academy defeated by the Posh

The Daggers played there first home since 12th December last year, when they entertained Peterborough United at May and Baker's on Saturday morning. The home side gave a debut to Mohammed Diakite in the heart of the defence and will disappointed with result in a game where they dominated for long periods.
From the off, the Daggers attacked their visitors and the influential Lee Woottonstruck the bar. On seven minutes, Danny Sambridge made a low save to deny the Posh attack.

The visitors took the lead on 10 minutes against the run of play when Sambridge was lobbed from eight yards. United made it 2-0 on 16 minutes when the Peterborough striker ran through and slotted home.

Just before the break, Wootton again went close but the Daggers went in at the break two goals behind.

The home side came out strong early in the second half and had a goal disallowed just two minutes into the second period. But two minutes later Tony Martin hit just past the post.

On the hour Wootton thought he had scored, but alast ditch save on the line denied him. Both Pitter-Banguraand Nash had late effort and it was Peterborough who were pleased to hear the final whistle.
Next Saturday, the academy side travel to ColchesterUnited in a rearranged league game.

Team: Sambridge, Pooley, Larner, Diakite (Eubel 49mins), Brien, Sheldon (Dennis 63), Nash, Wootton, Theophanous, Martin (Pitter-Bangura 70mins),  Wren. Unused subs: Bland and Mead
