Still Extends his Contract

Posted on: Thu 29 Oct 2009

Dagenham & Redbridge FC are pleased to announce that Manager John Still has this week signed an extension to his contract which will keep him at the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Stadium until June 2014. Eight Coca Cola League Two have already changed managers this season but the Daggers won't be adding to that list.

The Club have been working hard since the summer negotiating extensions to the contracts of all their non playing football staff. The extension to John's contract completes the hard work with Academy manager Wayne Burnett, Assistant manager Terry Harris and Physio John Gowens all having signed deals since the summer to keep them at the Club until June 2011.

Since returning to the Club in April 2004, John has developed the team from being a mid-Conference side when he took over into one that is proudly sitting in second place in Coca Cola League Two. This in addition to being able to bring in funds with transfer deals which include Tresor Kandol - now at Leeds, Craig Mackail Smith, Scott Griffiths and Dominic Green at Peterborough and Solomon Taiwo at Cardiff City.

"I'm very happy to commit my immediate future to Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club", Said John Still upon signing his new contract.

He added, "I want to consolidate all the work we've done so far in getting to where we are and I want us to keep making steps in right direction, applying the same principles we have done and who knows what we can achieve?"

John is the 6th longest serving manager in the whole Football League behind, Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester Untied, Arsene Wenger of Arsenal John Coleman of Accrington Stanley, David Moyes of Everton and Steve Tilson of Southend United.
