Midfielder Solomon Taiwo has been transferred to Cardiff City for a record transfer fee received by Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club.
Solomon joined the Daggers in 2007 from Sutton United and, after a short trial, was signed on a two and a half year contract. His first two games for the Daggers proved eventful with the midfielder receiving a red card on both occasions. Since then he has been an almost ever-present in the side scoring some quality goals in the process. In total he made 53 competitive appearances and scored six goals.
The Bluebirds have been tracking the 24-year old for a while and following the Carling Cup game between the two sides made a written offer which was accepted by the Club. This continues the Clubs policy of not stopping players progressing providing an offer is made which reflects a fair valuation of them.
Sol spoke to Cardiff City on Monday and yesterday he passed his medical and has today signed for the Championship side.
Daggers manager John Still said, "I am gutted to lose him. He is a fantastic talent and he is another one in a long line who have come here and gone on to bigger things."
Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club thank Solomon for his service to the Club and wish him every success in the future.
