The Daggers got their pre season programme underway with a 5-0 victory over Ryman League Concord Rangers at Thames Road on Canvey Island.
The Daggers started and ended the game with every first team player getting a run out with the exception of Anwar Uddin and Mark Nwokeji. Anwar is nursing a cut on his leg whilst Mark has a knee injury which will keep him out for the next couple of months at least.
The opening half saw both Dagenham wingers Green and Montgomery in action and they were a constant threat to the Concord defence. The opening goal came after just 6 minutes when Mark Arber powered home a Graeme Montgomery corner. Jon Nurse set Wesley Thomas up for the second goal just four minutes later.
Thomas looked strong leading the line for the visitors and he was upended on 18 minutes to allow Solomon Taiwo to stroke home the penalty.
An excellent passing movement seven minutes later saw Danny Green square the ball to Jon Nurse to slot home for the fourth goal.
Both sides made changes in the second half and Concord even changed kit. With Paul Benson on for the second half alongside Josh Scott is was no surprise he rounded off the scoring with the 70th minute when he finished off a cross from trialist Glenn Poole. Another trialist to feature was Ghana International Will Antwi who played centre half for the full ninety minutes.
A good first run out for the Daggers who are in action next on Tuesday at Boreham Wood at 7.30pm. Meanwhile, a second string side including David Hogan, Daniel Charge, Billy Bingham and Tommy Tejan-Sie won 1-0 earlier in the day at Thurrock FC.
