The 19 year old pair spent time out on loan last season and both will continue gaining vital first team football in the upcoming campaign.
Alex signed for the Daggers as a 16 year old back in May 2010 and will this season stay with Billericay Town until January 1st. Town are competing in the Blue Square South this season following promotion last year, Alex has experience at that level after representing both Thurrock United & Chelmsford City last year.
Meanwhile Ian Gayle has joined Histon on loan also until the 1st of January. The defender spent a season at Kingstonian last season in the Ryman Premier and a good season earnt him a new one year contract with the Daggers.
Histon compete in the Blue Square North so it will a progression for the Daggers Academy graduate.
New signing Andrew Burns is the 3rd player to leave the club; the young defender has joined Kettering Town until the new year and will play in the Evo Stik Southern Premier League for the next few months.
Daggers boss John Still thinks the loan moves will be good for all parties:
“Alex Osborn has done well; he’s come back from the summer break and has trained hard. He’s a little way off of the first team at the moment but he’s made good strides, he’s still a young boy so we’re going to send him back out on loan for a few months.
If we need to bring him back after that we will but he’s certainly one that we feel has got a future, is developing nicely and we’re hoping that the spell at Billericay will do him the world of good.
Ian Gayle has also progressed, perhaps not as quickly as one or two but he has made strides and we’re hoping that upping his level to Conference North football with Histon will bring him on a little more. We’re looking forward to him coming back and putting himself into contention for the first team squad.
We think this step is the right one for him and with Ian & Alex both playing at Conference North/South football we are looking for a good improvement by both of them over the next few months.”
Daggers.co.uk will keep fans updated on both Ian, Andrew & Alex’s progress in the Loan Watch feature.
