Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Michael Spillane has signed for Southend United Football club.

The former Irish Under-21 international joined the Daggers from Brentford in November 2011, initially on loan, and won the club's Player of The Year Award in his debut campaign.

His last appearance for the club came in the 3-1 npower League Two defeat at Northampton on New Year’s Day

John Still Said “I want to thank Michael for his year at the club; he came here at a difficult time and done fantastically well. Last year he was our player of the season and this year he has contributed in a few different positions for us.  When Michael joined us we couldn’t really afford him, he got a lot of help from Brentford which helped him join us but that brings him up until about now. We wish mick the best of luck and thank him for his services. He is always welcome here at Dagenham & Redbridge”.

Everyone at the club thanks Michael for his services and we wish him well for the future.
