Dagenham & Redbridge FC have parted ways with striker Josh Scott by mutual consent.
Josh signed for Dagenham & Redbridge in July 2009 from Hayes and Yeading United.
A great first season with the Daggers was rounded off when he scored four goals in the League Two play-off semi-final first leg victory over Morecambe.
Injuries have jinxed Josh for the past few seasons. He was side-lined for most of the 2010/11 season having been diagnosed with a blood clot then a knee injury delayed his return to competitive action in 2011/12 and a stop-start season saw him register just the one goal which was in a 2-1 victory at Morecambe.
Josh joined Ebbsfleet on a month’s loan on January 31st last year and then returned to the Daggers.
This season has seen his options limited at the club and it has been agreed by both parties to terminate his contract in order for Josh to further his career.
The club wish him every success in his future and manager Wayne Burnett said: “I had a chat with Josh and we decided he needed to go and get some football as his chances would be limited here. I wish him all the very best, he's spent a lot of time at the club and given good account of himself and has been unlucky with injury. I wish him all the best wherever he goes and I hope wherever that is he succeeds.“
