Dagenham & Redbridge suffered a disappointing night at Luton Town, going down 1-0.
Daggers never really got going at Kenilworth Road, but did cause the hosts problems on occasion.
The visitors made just the one change with Matt Richards
replacing Josh Passley
in the starting line-up.
Luton had two former Daggers in their matchday squad, with Danny Green starting and Paul Benson on the bench.
The visitors were under pressure early on, with Mark Cousins
forced into action from just inside the box by Josh McQuoid in the 13th minute.
Cousins was in action again four minutes later to stop Stephen O’Donnell from 18 yards following a quick counter attack by Luton.
Daggers’ first shot of the match came in the 22nd minute when Ashley Hemmings
shot from 25 yards with the outside of his boot, but Elliot Justham comfortably collected it.
But it was the hosts who took the lead with a swift break in the 37th minute that resulted in Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu scoring from just inside the area.
Daggers introduced Jamie Cureton
and it was almost an inspired change with the striker having an effort cleared off the line in the 48th minute.
The Hatters went close again in the 53rd minute when Jonathan Smith headed a corner at goal, but Cousins saved the effort well at close range.
Daggers continued to look for a route back into the match, but were unable to do so with Luton controlling the possession statistics.
But the visitors almost found the goal they were craving in the 82nd minute when substitute Oliver Hawkins was found in space, but his close range shot hit the bar.
They stayed a goal behind, though, and try as they might in the final minutes could not find a way past Justham for an equaliser.
