Dagenham & Redbridge made it through the area quarter-final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with a 2-1 win at Stevenage
Wayne Burnett made five changes from the weekend loss at home to Mansfield Town, with Justin Hoyte making his debut.
After a dull first half, Daggers took the lead in the 53rd minute through that pesky little frontman Jamie Cureton
Cureton was played in by Ashley Chambers
and was able to curl the ball beyond a helpless Chris Day.
And less than three minutes later, the visitors had their second of the night through the same combination.
This time it was Cureton who turned provider, laying the ball off to Chambers on the penalty spot who lashed it home with his left foot.
Stevenage pulled a goal back with just over 10 minutes remaining from the penalty spot after Kane Ferdinand
committed a foul in the area.
But Daggers held on for only their third win in all competitions this season.
