Dagenham & Redbridge suffered their first defeat in three league matches as they went down 2-1 at Carlisle United.
There was just one change for the visitors, with Andre Boucaud
replacing Matt Richards
after returning from international duty.
Doidge put the visitors in the lead against the run of play in the 12th minute of the match.
broke down the left before crossing for the Welshman, who rose highest at the back post to head home.
Liam O’Brien was called upon properly in the 35th minute but got down well to save Jason Kennedy’s cross-cum-shot.
But Carlisle did pull a goal back in the 36th minute when Angelo Balanta fired home a half volley from just inside the area.
And they were two up in the 53rd minute when Jabo Ibehre headed home unmarked after Alex McQueen’s cross into the box.
The visitors had Josh Passley
to thank for not falling further behind in the 79th minute, the defender clearing a Tom Miller header off the line.
O’Brien was again tested late on but in the end it was the hosts who prevailed at Brunton Park
