Dagenham & Redbridge remain without a point this season after a 2-1 loss at home to Exeter City.
Daggers made four changes from the loss to Leyton Orient with returning Ayo Obileye
, back on loan from Charlton Athletic, on the bench having only met back up with the side today.
In the eighth minute, Nyron Nosworthy
thought he had his first goal for the club after heading home an Andre Boucaud
free kick, only to see the linesman flag for a foul.
Exeter had a penalty appeal turned down in the 25th minute when Boucaud tackled David Noble in the box after the visiting man broke forward from midfield.
After good chances for both sides, it was the Grecians who took the lead in the 36th minute when Ryan Harley smashed home from 20 yards to put the visitors in front at half time.
Daggers began brightly after the break, though, with Boucaud (twice) and Matt Richards
both going close in the first five minutes of the second period.
Exeter, though, doubled their advantage in the 62nd minute when Troy Brown headed home Holmes’ corner from the right at the back post.
Boucaud went close from distance once again 13 minutes later, forcing Grecians stopper Bobby Olejnik to push to ball away for a corner.
With seven minutes remaining, Jones went close despite being surrounded by three Exeter defenders but saw the ball curl just wide of the angle.
But two minutes later he grabbed the goal he deserved, a right footed effort sailing over Olejnik on its way in.
thought he had grabbed the hosts an equaliser in the final minute but was denied on the strech by Olejnik.
