Dagenham & Redbridge finished the year with a disappointing 2-0 defeat away to Exeter City.
The visitors made a bright start in the fourth minute when Jodi Jones found Ashley Chambers
in acres of room in the box but an onrushing James Hamon blocked the shot.
Fourteen minutes later Matt Partridge
broke upfield, played a one-two with Jamie Cureton
on the edge of the area but could only shoot straight at Hamon.
With 11 minutes remaining in the half, Daggers thought they had taken the lead when Ashley Chambers
curled a beauty in from the edge of the area, but he was adjudged to have been offside.
Jones went close with a 50th minute with a free kick from 25 yards that cause Hamon real trouble.
It was Exeter who took the lead though through Jimmy Keohane, who struck in their win at Victoria Road, as the forward fired home from the edge of the area.
Nine minutes later their lead was two when Ian Gayle
’s backpass was intercepted by Tom Nichols who tapped in less than five yards out.
Cureton got one back for the visitors in stoppage time which was cheered by both the home and away fans.
