Dagenham & Redbridge were not able to snatch a point out of chasing Wycombe Wanderers at home, after Aaron Pierre scored the only goal of the game.
Both teams came into the game very positive in the top of the form table. The Daggers had only lost one in their last five games, whereas third place team Wycombe Wanderers had not lost in their last five.
It was a very quiet first half down at The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Stadium, where both Goalkeepers were not really tested until the last minutes of the first half. Jamie Cureton
had the best chance of the first half for the Daggers, as he managed to head the ball backwards after Ashley Hemmings
crossed it in. Wycombe’s Matt Ingram had to stretch to push the ball over the crossbar.
The first 15 minutes of the second half were no different, Ex-Dagger Sam Saunders managed to get a shot in the 61st minute and Cousin's had to dive to send the ball out, awarding Wycombe a corner.
The Daggers had to continue defending as Wycombe managed to get another two corners in a matter of seconds, and it was Aaron Pierre who found the net shortly after the corner was taken in the 64th minute and after a scramble in the area the ball fell to defender's feet to tap home.
Daggers' top scorer Jamie Cureton
had a great chance to equalise in the closing minutes with good control on the turn that helped him to go one on one with the keeper, on another day he would have scored, but his shot was wide of the target.
Jones had his chance to get one back for the Daggers, testing Ingram from range during stoppage time.
Even though Dagenham did not achieve the result that they wished for, they still remain 15th in the table, 11 points above the relegation zone.
