A spirited Dagenham and Redbridge performance wasn't enough to stop Burton Albion as they went clear at the top of the Sky Bet Football League Two.
Burton Albion went close in the first minute of the game as Ivan Calero's free-kick beat Mark Cousin but clipped the top of the crossbar.
is still chasing his 250th league goal but he went close with an audacious effort from a tight angle that was cleared off the line by the Burton Albion defence.
The match was scoreless at half-time but only for the heroics of Cousins, who pulled off an incredible save to deny Stuart Beavon on the stroke of half-time.
Daggers opened the scoring in the 67th minute when former player Damien McCrory slipped allowing Alex Jakubiak
to have a clear run at goal and he obliged with drilled a shot into the bottom corner of the net.
The lead lasted three minutes as Burton equalised following a goalmouth scramble, Adam McGurk getting the final touch after McCrory's shot had hit the crossbar.
McCrory put the gloss on the scoreline. As Daggers went in search of an equaliser in vain, the former Dagger took advantage of space left in the Dagger's defence and fired a shot past Cousins to secure the three points for the Brewers.
